The Twin Towers after 9/11

The Twin Towers after 9/11

The World Trade center, commonly referred to as the Twin towers, was "Ground Zero" to September 11 attack.  The original Tower 1 was on the north side while Tower 2 was situated on the south side.  At some point in history these two buildings were considered the tallest buildings in the world.  On the morning of September, 11th, 2001, and islamic terrorist group with connections with Al Qaeda, hijacked United Airlines 175 and Americans Airline flight 11 both on route to Los Angles, crashed into the World Trade Center towers killing approximately 2600 people including civilians, law enforcement officers and Fire Fighters. After to collision, the Towers took about 2 hours to collapse on itself.

Today, stands 4 World Trade centers, and 9/11 memorial and a underground Transpiration Hub, which looks more like a state of art upside down mall to me. What is fascinating about this hub is that, on the outside it looks like a eagle and on the inside is this huge underground mall. At the site of where tower 1 and tower 2 stood, now has two very deep fountains of water.  The wind is so strong in these areas that there is mist of water all around, it is really a sad yet calming place to be. The names of the people who died on this day are engraved around the large square fountains.  Is the World Trade center worth visiting? Absolutely.  For more information you can check out the official website: https://www.911memorial.org/
